Living in a small town has some big advantages when it comes to friends.  Opening her home for the bridal party to prepare for the big day, Betty Kate Thompson (long time friend and neighbor of the family), made Samantha’s day even more elegant and quaint…Southern Style Hospitality.  With delicious food for the ladies and tasty mimosas setting the tone for the rest of the day and a horse drawn carriage to escort the bride down the road to a set of vintage wooden doors leading down the isle to the front porch of her parent’s lovely southern home.  Saying their vows in front of over 300 guests seated in the front lawn, James and Samantha started the rest of the lives together.  They continued the celebration in the back yard under a beautiful tent decorated with a hint of southern vintage.  Great food and drinks with a live band made certain their lives and families joining together were going to be full of happiness and good times.

This wedding was a dream for us.  From the southern charm, the almost “too” fun wedding party, and working with people we grew up with and knew all of our lives.  Plus, we only had to walk down a couple of houses for the wedding eliminating all of the normal travel time!

Congratulations James and Samantha! We are so happy to see you guys married!!!!

I spent this Saturday afternoon with the Lawhon family not worrying about casting shadows from the sun or getting everyone to look at me at the same time. We just let them play and enjoy their love for one another. It’s now one of my favorite family sessions and inspiration for what sessions will look like in the future for mlittlephotography families. Enjoy!

Thanks Wes and Meghan and all the Sample’s family and Williams family for welcoming us to this wedding. It’s been great getting to know you all!

They both grew up in traditional southern farm families so we had to start their engagement session at the farm. I love the way we captured their emotion for one another but it gets even better with part 2 of their love session. Coming soon!

These guys are an earthy couple in love with each other and the Volkswagen Beetle. Well, maybe Wes doesn’t love the Bettle but Meghan sure does. Their early morning engagement session was just on the side of a country road in a sunflower patch. Here’s a little tip for photographers: If you set the lovely couple down in a nest of wasps be sure to shoot the rest of the engagement session fast before the swelling begins. Yes unfortunately I did that but Meghan and Wes were troopers. The swelling stayed at bay (for the most part).

This couple has had a long love story and will be tying the knot in November. The Catholic ceremony will be held in Wynne, AR and the reception will be following at none other than the family’s personal hangar. We can’t wait to see this vintage themed wedding incorporate their love for flying.

I fell in love with her red leather jacket!! It’s these layering pieces that make your outfit pop! She also added some great jewelry, fab shoes and her grandfather’s vintage fedora for a kick butt session! She had the attitude to get the best senior session and I think we did that here.

Marlee’s session was a milestone for our photography business. Things started to change in our style and we began to see a new perspective on the horizon. It’s a cycle you go through as a photographer, creative, artist or whatever you want to call us. We have read many other photogs speak about it, we just didn’t know what they meant until this year. It’s when you stop worrying about what everyone else is doing and start becoming yourself, that things start falling into place.
We are inspired still and look for inspiration often from the greats in the industry, but now instead of fretting over “Studio XYZ is doing things this way so maybe we should too,” we do what feels good for us. We are happy to say this session was the start of who we find ourselves to be as photographers. Keep watching us grow as we finally have gotten back and committed to keeping this blog updated!

KATV – Breaking News, Weather and Razorback Sports

It takes an entire team to pull together a wedding, especially one like this.  We had the luxury of having two additional photographers, Kim Boyd (of ZOE Wedding Art), Brittany Schlamp (Britanny Schlamp), and Travis Sherman (SS Pictures), our partnered videographer to help.  When it came to the design, Larry West of Interiors West designed the entire thing around Cindle’s beautiful dress from Low’s Bridal.  Larry brought in Bylites to add the beautiful up-lighting and give ambiance to both the ceremony and reception.  The floral decor for this wedding was unbelievable!  All custom designed by Chris Norwood and his team at Tipton Hurst, featuring flower chandeliers over the dance floor and above the 4ft cake by TracyCakes that was remarkable to say the least.  To give a modern lounge feel, Trendstyle Events of Little Rock brought in luxury, modern all white furniture inside the ballroom and out on the balcony for guests.  Every detail was elegant in design including the wedding program from By Invitation Only.  The ceremony featured a quartet from Arkansas Symphony Orchestra and Lawrence Hamilton, a broadway singer from New York.  Guest danced and celebrated to the tunes of The Rockets band and partied in the photobooth by mlittlephotography.
